Our mandate is to carry out marine geological database construction and realize marine geological data visualization, develop marine geology information products and provide services to the public, carry out research on marine geological information integration services on the cloud platform. Currently we have developed 6 database technical standards, such as data quality control, metadata and regional geological map database construction.

We have established a national “regional marine geological database” and a number of specific marine geology databases. Among them, the "regional marine geological database" is one of the database construction projects under the Digital Land and Resources Program of China Geological Survey as an important part of the national basic geological database. In this database, nearly 40 years of marine geological survey data and the newest marine geological survey achievements are collected and online services of these data are available. It will provide solid basis and technology supports for decision-making, maritime management, scientific research and resource development.
